Jimmie L. Harper, Jr., DDS, MS, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in private practice in Cincinnati, Ohio. Completed dental school at the Ohio State University in 1979, followed by 3 years active duty in the USAF, Kirtland AFB, NM. I returned to the Ohio State University in 1982 for residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. This was followed an additional 3 years at Carswell AFB, TX. I joined a private practice in Cincinnati in 1989 and have been actively involved in providing deep sedation/general anesthesia in an office based setting for the past 36 years. I have served as an examiner for the Ohio State Dental Board for General Anesthesia/Sedation permits. I have been actively involved in resident education, serving as Director of Residency Education, Division of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Cincinnati from 1990-1998. I currently serve as a Volunteer Assistant Professor and I teach a didactic Medicine/Anesthesia Course and a didactic/laboratory Surgical Anatomy Course for the OMS residents at the University of Cincinnati. I also have an appointment with the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. I currently serve as a chairman of the AAOMS Committee on Anesthesia.
